Launch of New App for the Agricultural Market

Agri-Biz, an innovative new App, is scheduled to be released in SA on August 11, 2023 on social media.

Agri-Biz is South Africa’s one-stop shop for agricultural products, jobs, livestock,  real estate and agri services, as well as the most up-to-date Agri news and information.

This App was developed by WebGenix, a development company in Somerset West for a group of businesses in the agri space in the Western Cape. The vision for this App is to bring Agricultural buyers and sellers together in SA, eliminating the intermediary and saving money. This App also serves as an information hub and an online marketplace for farmers.

According to Martin Combrinck, the App developer, “what makes this App so unique is that it is free and that clients can buy and sell Agri products on one platform.” “Both the Android version and the iOS version is available for download for free,” Combrinck says.

Research from Pew Research indicates that 85% of Americans now own a smartphone. This percentage rises to over 90% for those aged between 18 and 49. Considering that most people always carry their mobile devices with them, this poses an incredible opportunity for businesses to use mobile apps to reach their target audience.

Below are some preview screenshots of the Agri-Biz App:

Agri-Biz mobile app can send notifications to customers when they have news or new products to share. “Push notifications are one of the biggest app communication channels” according to Combrinck. “Providing a positive in-app experience can help drive sales for any business and another benefit of a mobile app for your business is that it is a direct marketing channel between you and your customer”.

Another advantage of apps is the ability to utilise them while not connected to the internet. While most app activities, such as accessing maps and making in-app purchases or calls, require an internet connection, basic app information (such as store location, hours, menus, and items) can be accessed even without an internet connection.

The goal with this App is to make it easy for individuals to buy and sell agricultural items in one location”, according to Combrinck “This will eliminate the middleman and save money for everyone.” Clients can currently market and sell their products on this Agri-Biz App for free by downloading it from Google Play Store or Apple Store (see links below).
