Gradlinc celebrates huge achievement as a top 10 finalist in AfricaIgnite pitch competition

Gradlinc, a Stellenbosch-based South African startup, is proud to be one of the top 10 finalists in the AfricaIgnite Pitch Competition.

The competition, hosted at the Africa Tech Festival from 14 – 17 November, took place in Cape Town at the CTICC from to 16 November. The competition winner will proceed to the Grand Finale of the Startup World Cup to be held in San Francisco – with a USD 1 million investment on offer to the global winner.

This achievement marks a significant milestone for Gradlinc, highlighting the dedication and hard work of its growing team.

Since its inception in December 2022 as a team of three, Gradlinc has steadily expanded its team to six members. Throughout 2023, the company has reached various noteworthy milestones, registering over 3500 students from universities across South Africa on its platform and establishing partnerships with more than 200 employers. The platform has successfully published over 200 jobs over only 10 months and organised multiple work-readiness workshops and discussions in collaboration with various partners, aiming to equip students with the necessary skills and knowledge for the professional world.

What sets Gradlinc apart is its emphasis on a personal touch with the community. Assuming an advocacy role for the employment of Gen Z, Gradlinc gives students and graduates a voice through concerted efforts on the ground level to connect with them and facilitate the development of personal brands as a foundation for successful careers. The platform prides itself on the presence of dedicated professionals who work closely with both employers and higher education institutions, striving to understand their respective needs and bringing a viable solution to the table for graduate unemployment in South Africa. This commitment to fostering work-readiness initiatives for students has contributed significantly to Gradlinc’s growth and impact within the African startup ecosystem.
