Stellenbosch storytellers keen to take the stage at e’Bosch Festival of Talents 2026
Stellenbosch’s creative community is turning out in force for this year’s e’Bosch Festival of Talents, with auditions drawing poets, writers, performers, and artists from across the region.
“We were amazed by the response to our first two audition weekends. Artists from Paarl and even Cape Town’s suburbs brought their work to Stellenbosch in hopes of joining our Festival of Talents on Heritage Day, 24 September, at the Town Hall,” says Priscilla Visser, Project Manager for the 2026 festival.
The auditions have already revealed a rich mix of talent – from poets and rappers to drama groups – all eager to share their stories. With just one audition left on 19 September, organisers are still welcoming submissions for the Our Stories Showcase, a vibrant platform for poetry, short stories, drama, dance, song, and visual art.
Stellenbosch’s walls have witnessed centuries of history and now it’s time for its people to let those walls “speak” through their own creativity. Visser explains: “Every community has stories worth telling. This showcase gives residents the chance to express themselves, preserve their heritage, and inspire others. We want to hear your voice, whether through words, movement, or music.”
Entry Guidelines
- Original works only — no hate speech, discrimination, or profanity.
- Written submissions: 250–1000 words.
- Songs and dance videos: maximum of 3 minutes.
- Participants under 16 require parental consent.
- Each entry must include name, age, contact details, and a short description of the work.

Send submissions preferably via WhatsApp to 065 752 5447, or by email to media.ebosch@gmail.com. The final audition takes place on 19 September at the Voorgelegen Museum, 116 Dorp Street, Stellenbosch, from 09:00 to 13:00.
Participants will be invited to audition based on the strength of their submission. Successful candidates will perform at the official e’Bosch Festival of Talents 2026 on Heritage Day, 24 September, at the Stellenbosch Town Hall. Performers will be paid and stand a chance to win major prizes.
Visser concludes: “This is more than a competition — it’s a celebration of our shared heritage and legacy. By participating, you become part of a living tradition that strengthens community bonds and showcases the richness of Stellenbosch’s cultural tapestry.”
